INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION: The Co-working & Mutual Aid YP2F HQ Intern will support the YP2F HQ third space running week to week while also gaining tangible professional skills and mentorship. The position supports both YP2F HQ and the YP2F Little Projects Residency Program through the fall and primary responsibilities will support in  managing the co-working space, mutual aid organization and distribution, as well as overall project communications (including social media). This position is specifically reserved for young adults (18-30) with previous experience of instability (ex. homelessness or housing, systems involvement).

  • Most hours fall within traditional working hours, with the occasional evening, weekend, or irregular shift as programming requires.

  • Ideal candidate: a CD13 resident, Spanish-speaking, a young person or student, social media savvy, and community-oriented.

Core Responsibilities

  • Host and run a weekly community co-working day 

  • Staff the mutual aid table and support community resource distributions.

  • Coordinate events and handle day-to-day resident communication (email and digital).

  • Manage co-working and collaborative-use scheduling.

  • Help develop and maintain the space's programming schedule.

  • Support the social media team in amplifying HQ and residency updates.

  • Support moderation of the YP2F Discord server.

  • Source snacks and supplies for the space.

Prioritized Skills & Assets

  • Spanish/English bilingual preferred.

  • Professional soft skills: time management, reliability, consistency, meeting preparation and facilitation, note-taking, and familiarity with Google Workspace and digital communication.

  • Experience and or interest in creating social media (reels/tiktok)

  • Ability to maintain a safe, welcoming atmosphere for everyone in the space.

  • Adaptable in a dynamic environment; works well as part of a team.

  • Takes initiative and sets high standards for personal and team performance.

  • Open to learning; brings a patient, consistent approach to their own growth.

  • A thoughtful communicator who offers feedback constructively.

Physical & Working Conditions

This is an in-person role at YP2F HQ. The Coordinator should be able to:

  • Set up and reset the space: moving tables, chairs, and event materials.

  • Lift and carry mutual aid and snack supplies of up to 25 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Go up and down stairs easily and carry up to 15lbs up one flight of stairs (YP2F HQ is on the second floor of a building only accessible via stairs)

  • Be on their feet and moving around the space for portions of a shift.

Compensation & Employment Details

  • Classification: W-2, part-time, non-exempt, temporary employee. This is an employment position, not an independent contractor engagement — YP2F withholds and remits applicable payroll taxes.

  • Rate: $25 per hour. No benefits accrue with this position.

  • Pay cycle: Paid bi-weekly via Gusto payroll services. [First pay date TBD].

  • Hours: ~8 hours/week, roughly [October–December 18, 2026].

Schedule: 100 hours total. Part-time, ~8 hours/week, primarily Tuesdays and/or Fridays 

Reports to: Director of Partnerships and Sustainability, and YP2F Senior Staff 

Classification: Part-time, non-exempt, temporary (W-2) Rate: $25/hour no benefits accrued.
